Alain Buffard — Good Boy
This book explores the life and work of choreographer Alain Buffard, whose groundbreaking creations were deeply shaped by his experience of the AIDS crisis. A major figure in contemporary French dance, Buffard combined personal history, radical artistic vision, and political reflection in works such as Good Boy and Baron Samedi.
Through testimonies, images, and unpublished archives, the book reveals the many sides of Buffard: artist, performer, thinker, and collaborator. It traces his creative journey, his reflections on art and identity, and the lasting impact of his work, offering a rich portrait of a complex and influential choreographer.
